Mother’s Day

Embrace all of it.

Can you believe it’s Mother’s Day weekend already? For those of you moms tuning in, I salute you because motherhood is not for the faint of heart and I hope you feel SO VERY LOVED this weekend! What you do matters! You’re raising up the next generation! It is HARD, but IMPORTANT work, sister!

God has been laying this on my heart lately:

Being a Mom is one of the hardest, yet rewarding gifts.

Children are a gift, yes. But sometimes I forget that being a mom is a gift too. When the responsibilities and demands of parenting feel heavier than I can carry, I forget what a gift it is to be the momma of my two (not so little) babes.

So this weekend, I’m slowing down and enjoying it all.

The whole thing.

The noises that fill my home…ESPN 24/7, T’Swift playing across the house, stinky socks, stolen shoes (you’d think the child has no clothes based on how much she steals from me! HA!), random conversations, laughter and non-stop laundry.

All of it.

Basketball games, a messy kitchen, and college dorm room stuff that’s invaded and taken over two rooms of my house –

Let’s just embrace where we are TODAY. Not where we want to be, or what we wish it was. Just take a deep breath and say thank you for what it is today, and the honor of getting to do it.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there listening in – I sure am grateful for each of you.

If you haven’t listened to this week’s episode, head over to Spotify, Apple, or to give it a listen. We talked about trusting God with our children’s story. It’s one of the hardest things we do, and it’s grown me UP in my faith over the years, for sure.
