A new episode came out on the podcast today, and even though I recorded it over a month ago, I do not even want to admit to you how it hit me, or how much Carol Feil’s words are still echoing in my head. The truth of the matter is, our internal dialogue can MESS US UP and the thoughts we allow to roam free in that space between our ears can derail our best plans.
Carol sets us straight on comparison, inner dialogue, shame spirals, and guilt (Yeah. Really fun topics, right?!) BUT… even if we hit some hard topics today, Jesus was so sweet to show up and remind us of who we are in Him.
Regarding her internal conversation, Carol spoke the words so many of us need to hear:
”The conversation I was having with myself, Kristi…would break someone’s heart if they heard it. And it took me a long time to realize I could speak truth over that conversation – and I did not have to keep listening to it.”
Well ain’t that the truth, y’all.
Our self-worth isn’t determined by anyone else. It’s an internal battle and victory, and it starts with the simple yet powerful act of inviting the Holy Spirit to speak truth into our lives. Let’s remember this the next time we are tempted to bite at the lies the enemy places before us.
Jesus is so faithful friends, and ohhh how he wants you to see yourself the way he does.
