I’m terrible at waiting. I hate waiting in line for coffee, tap my toes in the grocery check-out, and don’t get me started on the hours I’ve spent in school parking lots waiting for my precious children to saunter out to my car like sloths.
I want to breeze in, breeze out, with nary a snag in my perfectly timed plans.
(And that’s when God gets yet another good chuckle out of me and my silly plans)
You’re likely waiting for something too.
The phone call. The test results. Waiting for this season to end, waiting for that season to finally begin.
Maybe you’ve prayed for years for the positive pregnancy test, but it’s negative every month. Or maybe it’s a job or promotion. For some it’s a spouse – or heck, just someone to take to dinner that can hold a conversation beyond, “How’s the weather?”
Waiting.
Some of us are better at it than others. (It’s me, hi. I’m the problem, it’s me.)
I know He’s never late. But man, sometimes I hate waiting on him.
In this week’s episode, LaQuinta Pollard and I talked about a lot of things, but one of the themes was that of God’s Timing.
God’s timing.
Not my timing. Not yours. HIS.
LaQuinta’s faith in Him and His timing is remarkable. It reminds me to be patient, and trust that Even If I can’t see WHY his timing and mine don’t match, I can trust that He’s Never Late.
